Not sure if we really want him back on Idol, cuz he's doing just fine on his own now. Me thinks people just want to see that face (and well... the rest of him too) on TV every week.

Last week, we asked you who you’d like to see back on the “Idol” stage and by a huge margin, loveable, dreadlocked season-seven strummer Jason Castro beat out the competition. In fact, Castro stole the show with 45 percent of the vote, easily outpacing the tie for second place between season-three seventh-place finisher Jennifer Hudson (who is rumored to be returning to the show) and season-five sixth-place finisher Kellie Pickler, who each got 13 percent of the vote.

Jason performed at Rudder Auditorium at Texas A&M University on Saturday, March 28th. Earlier in the day, however, he put down his guitar and picked up a paint brush to help The Aggies at The Big Event, "the largest, one-day, student-run service project in the nation."

In years past, The Big Event fell on Jason's birthday weekend, so this is the first time he was able to participate. "It's great to come back and see everyone in action. This is what Aggieland is all about."

Regarding his current project, Jason advised "The Eagle" that he hoped to release his album by mid to late summer.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday March 10 at 11 AM CT. Ticket prices are $15.00 for students and $20.00 for everyone else.

The fan club presale will start at 11AM CT on Monday, March 9th. A special password will be emailed to fan club members.

The first five rows will be reserved for students.
