Check out this wonderful piece from The Santa Barbara Independent regarding last night's premiere of Amar a Morir and how the film makers discovered Jason's rendition of Hallelujah.
Thanks to overstrung for the find.
Big bro was there to support little bro at his American Idol audition.
Let's just say... neither disappointed.
You sure are a man, baby.
The Jason Castro Street Team has announced its State Teams Leaders. This brings to mind this blog has never addressed the Regional Leaders.
That's right, we never properly congratulated our own Singin72/Melinda for being the Southeast Regional Leader of the Jason Castro Street Team. It's a giant job and Melinda has handled it with her usual enthusiasm, diligence and charm. We are so very proud of her for taking on this challenge.
Four Goth Girls have also been chosen as State Team Leaders:
Laura Anne- Arizona and New Mexico
JCmyfascination/Tammy - Alabama
Iheartjasoncastro/Kathy - New York
Karlasu/Colleen (oh shit, that's me) - Southern California
In addition, many of our other girls have signed up for the street team and have offered to work in any capacity needed.
So does this mean the Goth Girls are going to stop lusting over this man? Hell no!
It just goes to show what we've all known for a long time. Goth Girls are smart and dedicated fans. We all intend to work our asses off for Jason!
Come on Jason, show some love to your best girls!
We've been just a little behind on the latest news. We're getting caught up now. Any news is good news, right?
KBTX, a TV station in College Station, TX listed Jason going on American Idol as one of their Top 10 Stories of 2008.
An Aggie idol's rise to fame comes in at #9 on our Top 10 Stories of 2008 as voted on by KBTX.com visitors.
Construction Science major Jason Castro went from small town singer to the top four on the nation's most popular television show, American Idol.
Before last spring, Castro was just your average college student at Texas A&M. That was before Idol.
It didn't take long for the dread-locked crooner to became a favorite on Fox's hit reality show, especially among Aggies.
Fans fancied the 20-year-old from Rowlett for his smooth voice and laid back style, as he belted out songs like "September Morn," "Forever in Blue Jeans," and "Hallelujah."
Watch parties popped up around town as fellow students cheered on the singer. A local gift store even made shirts supporting the Aggie Idol.
It all came down to Rock and Roll night on the show, when Castro sang his heart out for a spot in the top three. A&M even began planning for a homecoming party on campus.
But after forgetting the words during "Mr. Tambourine Man," the judges told him to pack his bags.
Although Jason Castro didn't become the next American Idol, no one can deny Castro-mania in 2008.

Jason is mentioned in this article from the Post-Bulletin in Rochester, MN.
The weirdest moment of the year, naturally, belonged to Paula Abdul, "American Idol's" free bird.
After a Jason Castro performance, Ryan Seacrest asked the judges for their reaction.
"Oh, gosh, we've never had to write these things down ... fast enough," said a flustered Abdul. "Jason, first song, I loved hearing your lower register, which we never really hear. Um ... the second song, I felt like your usual charm wasn't -- it was missing for me. It kind of left me a little empty."
Us, too. Especially since Castro had sung only one song.
What instruments do they play on your planet, Paula?
He lives. He speaks. He changes batteries. He shops at Cosco.
